Privacy Policy
Last updated June 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dibs (“Dibs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. The short version: we never sell your personal information, and we never take a cut of your settlements.
1. Information we collect
- Account information you provide: your email, and optionally your name and state.
- Eligibility information you submit: the companies and products you use, and the settlement notices you tell us you have received.
- Optional connections you explicitly authorize, such as a read-only bank link to match transactions or an inbox scan to find settlement notices. You can disconnect these at any time.
- Usage and device data collected automatically, such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser type, and similar analytics, including through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use your information
We use information to:
- match you to settlements you may qualify for and help you prepare claims;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- communicate with you about your account, claims, and updates;
- if you ask, and only with your explicit consent, connect you with a participating law firm regarding an active legal claim;
- comply with law and enforce our Terms.
3. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with: (a) service providers who process data on our behalf under contract (such as hosting, database, email, and analytics providers); (b) a law firm or claims partner, but only when you opt in to be connected; (c) authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety; and (d) a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/ CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Residents of the EU/UK may have rights under the GDPR. To exercise any right, email support@dibsmoney.com. You may also disconnect any linked account or delete your account at any time.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to operate the Service and privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We honor recognized opt-out signals where required by law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which we delete or de-identify it.
7. How we protect information
Connections are tokenized and read-only, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we store the minimum we need. We do not store full Social Security numbers; where a claim form requires one, you enter it yourself on the official administrator's site. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
